Happy Snowflake Day!

Well, snow days are few and far between here in the mountains of NC.  If we lived 30 miles north we may have more but, in Asheville, we seem to only get a dusting from time to time.  A few weeks ago we got about an inch which seemed super exciting!  In the past 24 hours we have gotten about 8 inches here.  It’s like heaven on earth!  We are technically snowed in because there hasn’t been a plow near us.  We are stocked on firewood and groceries and it is a glorious feeling.  Holden and I have gone out a few times in the snow, mostly when Ellarie is napping, and I taught him to stand still so that he could hear the tiny snowflakes falling down.  It’s such a simple but amazing thing to appreciate:)  We have made a lot of snow angels, had snowball fights, gone on an adventure walk/sleigh ride, went sledding, and made hot cocoa:)  I love making such precious memories and being able to appreciate the beauty of mother nature!  Hope you all are enjoying the weather where you are, whether it be sunny and warm or wet and snowy! As Holden would say, “happy snowflake day”!

Holden was complaining that his neck was cold yesterday so I made him a quick cowl.  He loves it because he can pull it over his mouth to look like a Ninja!

It’s a bit too cold and wet for Ellarie to crawl around in the snow, so we made time to hang out with her in the playroom:)  Looking cute as ever!

What fun and special times to remember! Holden will be praying for snow each winter. We see that Ellarie is all dressed for tomorrow ….our little Valentine!

It is so wonderful to have little ones to go out in the snow to just play and have fun, which you certainly look like you were doing! I miss making snowmen; by the time the shoveling is done (especially now, it’s really been enough already!!!!!) the beauty isn’t the same and then it’s off to work. So, enjoy the fun and the memories you are making. You’ll think of them when Holden and Ellarie are older, and these thoughts will make you smile again!
